The Making of Tulsi
Our Tulsi collection gets its name from the Indian plant, Tulsi or Holy Basil. Filled with subtle, intricate design details, inspired by traditional Kantha quilt stitching.
It all starts with a sketch. Deepali hand paints or draws a motif and decides on scale. From there, the drawing and measurements are sent to our artisans in India to start the wooden block carving process for printing. Our Tulsi pattern is printed in two steps, first the base color is printed and then the Tulsi motif is printed. Read more about our block printing process here.
